America's Trusted Insulation Brand

HOW INSULATION WORKS:

FIBERGLAS™ Insulation works on the principle of trapped air pockets. Millions of tiny air pockets form between the tangled strands of the FIBERGLAS™ Insulation. These air pockets resist the passage of heat fl ow through the material, reducing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer. Generally, the thicker the insulation, the more air pockets and the higher the R-value.

Insulation Facts to Consider

Stated R-value is achieved by installing a minimum required amount of insulation per 1,000 net sq. ft. at a thickness not less than the minimum thickness and minimum sq. ft. weight. Failure to install the required insulation at least the minimum thickness will result in lower insulation R-value.

All insulation varies in thermal performance due to factors such as mean temperature, settlement, convection, moisture absorption and installation variation. Convection in fiber glass loosefill insulation installed in open attics can reduce its thermal performance at extreme winter temperatures. AttiCat® PINK® Blown-In Insulation has been designed to anticipate this phenomenon and the labeled R-value reflects the average performance over the winter heating season.

Design Considerations:

As manufactured, fiberglass insulation is resistant to mold growth. Owens Corning is a worldwide leader in building material systems, insulation and composite solutions, delivering a broad range of high-quality products and services. Owens Corning is committed to driving sustainability by delivering solutions, transforming markets and enhancing lives.

R-VALUE DEFINED: The insulation performance of all insulation products is measured by a common standard: the R-value. R-value measures resistance to heat flow; the higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. R-value is usually determined by the thickness of the insulation. With the AttiCat® Expanding Blown-In Insulation System, you can blow-in insulation as thick as you want to achieve any desired R-value!

The AttiCat® Insulation Blowing Machine conditions the AttiCat® PINK® FIBERGLAS™ Insulation by breaking it up, thereby adding millions of tiny air pockets that give the material its insulating power. The insulation is further conditioned throughout the length of the hose. As the AttiCat® PINK® FIBERGLAS™ Insulation bounces its way up to your attic, more and more air pockets are added, increasing its insulating power the entire way!

Outstanding Performance. Exceptional Savings.

You may be paying higher energy bills than you should be. Conditioned air leaks out of areas like windows and doors, but mostly through the attic. Not having enough insulation results in major energy loss, costing homeowners more money than they think. It’s a huge problem, but don’t worry — we have the solution.
