On Monday, August 3, Great Lakes Home Remodeling and GAF brought a taco truck to the Great Lakes corporate office in Toledo, Ohio for Employee Appreciation Day. The food came from Street Tacos El Primo, a local Toledo truck, and the team gave the event its own name: Cinco de Monday.

The company memoput it simply: we always talk about Taco Tuesday, but this year we are calling it Cinco de Monday. The idea was small on purpose. Park a taco truck outside the office, tell everyone to come hungry, and give the teams a reason to step away from job sites, phones, and spreadsheets long enough to eat lunch together.

The event is a thank you for the hard work, dedication, and effort that the installation crews, sales teams, and office staff put in day after day across Ohio and Michigan.

The food came from Street Tacos El Primo, a Toledo taco truck that handled a very hungry company without breaking a sweat. If you are in the Toledo area and see the truck around town, consider this our endorsement. Supporting another local business while feeding our own people made the day better on both ends.
GAF, the roofing manufacturer behind most of the shingles our crews install, co-sponsored the lunch. Their territory manager Kevin O'Brien was at the office the same week for a bigger reason: he delivered our President's Club Awards recognize the work. Lunch recognizes the people who do it. We appreciate GAF for showing up for both.
To everyone on the team: thank you. Come hungry next year too.
